15/08/08 - Happy Birthday To you, happy birthday to you... happy birthday to gwendooottt.... happy 23rd birthday, sweetheart. xoxo
I brought home a Strawberry Tiramisu on friday arvo from Michel's Patisserie. The cake looks sooooo good! It is soft on the top, so soft like "snow". I put the "happy birthday" candle on it & gathered with housemates just to sing Happy birthday and have the cake! We only took couple of pictures, but took more pictures on the cake instead of the birthday boy. Anyway, we had his birthday dinner celebrationg last night @ Suminoya. It is an ALL- YOU -CAN eat korean/japanese bbq buffet, that you have to grill on it yourself and eat it.That costs @ $41-49 per head. So there were 10 of us. We seperate 2 tables ; the boys vs the gals. The place was HOT HOT HOT due to the heat from the charcoals and the BBQs.
The food was awesome, especially the "jako' rice. It is basically rice topped with 'salted' fish. I was the only one who doesnt eat 'raw' meat, as my tummy wouldnt compromise if i eat meat, i would feeling sick and i'll have those throwing up feeling. So i was the one who kept ordering Salads, salads and salads. From seaweed salads, to seafood salads, pine nut almond salad (so so good), and many more. I ordered 5 different types of salads. I did have some meats too, but its all cooked. VERY COOKED - "Zhao da" hahaha.. yes, i love zhao das .. though i know its not good for us, but i cant eat meats that are half cooked, or raw. So.. yea..
Mike was telling me about Newton Circus (in sg) about how he spent half of his life in Singapore and never did once stepped into Newton Circus till last month. I was like OH MY GOD-ing .... as my dad loves NCs food, he would bring me to eat there ever since i was 6 years old. Yes, the first time i stepped onto Singapore. Although i have got no clue how he knows that place, but i know he had travel alot. =)
My dad is my hero. He showed me how to be brave. He showed me how to be thoughtful and save money (still learning though). He thought me how to be a better person and that i have to study hard for my future. Whereas my mom, is the family's pillar. Everyone depends on her so much. My mom used to depend on my dad so much that she used to be scared travelling on her own, like travelling from Jakarta to Singapore just to pay me a visit (yes i know its only 1.5hrs flight). Although mom is not as brave as dad, but ever since my dad is "sick", she has been a brave person. She had become a super mom, who drives on her own (pardon me, she never used to drive on her own THEN), drives for my dad (yes from Bandung - Jakarta and everywhere else), trying new things (out of her comfort zone).
People says that i have daddy's nose (big lucky nose?) hahaha.. and i have daddy's character (too brave). Yes, maybe i learn things differently from my sister. I love exploring places on my own, whereas my sister will only feel secure when at that new place; there is me. I have been in Singapore since i was 6 years old, 3 yrs later (when i was 9), my sis and second bro came to SG to study. And my siblings left for Perth while i was left behind in SG by my own exploring the land. After finishing my O levels, i came to Sydney, (2003), 5 yrs later (jan 2008), my sis come to Sydney to do short courses & part time work.
I was telling her of how i might be going back for goods when i get married, she was like " i am going back with you". See, this is what i meant ......
Okay, maybe i shall stop here, since ive been mummbling too much that i think nobody will understand. If you dont understand, nevermind, just give this entry a pass =)
